The Kind Eyes of DeathPulsing, drifting, twisting, at you, awakening you in a daze of confusion and fear. Your mind was a trampling mess of compressed thoughts spilling out over it. The dust storms had risen faster then your people had seen. Sand was ripping apart your world, not the golden sand that surrounded it though. Black sand. Stranger LoveI am not the sunlit wing-print
splayed out on the bedroom wall.
I am not the dark mass forming
in a corner of an airless hall.

soaking up the things I feel.
I am the oblivious child,
dancing where the wildflowers are.
You are my unwitting captive
lighting up a jelly jar.
